Download Issues

My download failed or the file appears corrupted. What should I do?

Download failures can happen due to network interruptions or server issues. Here's what to try:

  1. Try downloading again: Often, a simple retry will work. Click the download button again to start a fresh download.
  2. Check your internet connection: Ensure you have a stable internet connection.
  3. Try a different browser: Sometimes browser extensions or settings can interfere with downloads.
  4. Still having issues? Contact our support team on Discord and we'll help you resolve the problem.

The "Download with App" button doesn't work. How do I fix this?

If the app protocol handler isn't working, try these solutions:

  1. Reinstall the BeamLeaks app: The installer should automatically register the beamleaks:// protocol. Download and run the installer again.
  2. Allow the protocol in your browser: Your browser may have blocked the protocol. Look for a notification asking for permission and click "Allow" or "Open."
  3. Restart your browser: After reinstalling the app, restart your browser completely.
  4. Still not working? Reach out to our support team on Discord for further assistance.

Downloads are very slow. Is there anything I can do?

Slow downloads can be frustrating. Here's how to troubleshoot:

  1. Test your internet speed: Use a speed test website to check if your connection is performing normally. If your speeds are lower than expected, the issue may be with your ISP.
  2. Try downloading at a different time: Server load can affect download speeds during peak hours.
  3. Check our status page: Visit status.beamleaks.com to see if there are any known service issues.
  4. Still experiencing slow speeds? Contact our support team on Discord and we'll investigate.

Installation Issues

I installed a mod but it doesn't show up in BeamNG. Why?

If a mod isn't appearing in BeamNG.drive, the most common cause is an incorrect installation path. Here's how to verify:

  1. Check your mods folder location: Make sure you placed the mod .zip file in the correct location. The default path is:
    C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\current\mods
  2. Don't extract the zip: BeamNG.drive reads mods directly from .zip files. Do not extract/unzip them.
  3. Restart BeamNG.drive: After adding mods, restart the game completely.
  4. Clear cache: In BeamNG.drive, go to Settings and clear your cache, then restart.

A mod is causing BeamNG to crash. What should I do?

Mod conflicts or compatibility issues can cause crashes. Here's how to resolve them:

  1. Identify the problematic mod: Remove the most recently installed mod and see if the crash stops.
  2. Check for mod conflicts: Some mods don't work well together. Uninstall conflicting mods one at a time to identify which combination causes issues.
  3. Ensure mods are up-to-date: Outdated mods may not work with newer versions of BeamNG.drive.
  4. Report the issue: If you identify a specific mod causing crashes, please report it through the mod's page or contact us on Discord.

How do I uninstall mods?

Uninstalling mods is simple and can be done in two ways:

Method 1: Using the BeamLeaks App (Easiest)

  1. Open the BeamLeaks app
  2. The app will show your BeamNG mods folder
  3. Find and delete the .zip file of the mod you want to remove

    C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\current\mods
  2. Find the .zip file of the mod you want to remove
  3. Delete the .zip file
  4. Restart BeamNG.drive for changes to take effect

BeamLeaks App Issues

The app can't find my BeamNG mods folder. What should I do?

If the app doesn't automatically detect your mods folder, you can manually set it:

  1. When prompted, manually enter your mods folder path
  2. The typical location is:
    C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\current\mods
  3. Replace YOUR_USERNAME with your Windows username
  4. If you have a custom BeamNG installation, navigate to where you installed it and find the mods folder
Tip: Press Win + R, type %localappdata%\BeamNG.drive, and press Enter to quickly navigate to your BeamNG folder.
